Walk beside the waterways

Worcestershire's canal network offers some of the county's gentlest walking, with towpaths passing through towns, countryside and historic industrial landscapes.

The Droitwich Canals, Worcester and Birmingham Canal, Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal and Stourport Basins all offer opportunities for waterside walks.

Choose a short section for an afternoon stroll or follow the waterways further into the countryside.

Beyond the towns

Into the countryside

Worcestershire changes quickly once you leave its towns behind, opening into farmland, orchards, wooded valleys and long-distance footpaths.

The Vale of Evesham is particularly known for its orchards and market gardening, while the Teme Valley offers quieter lanes and rolling countryside.

Around Broadway, walking routes climb towards the Cotswold escarpment, while the west of the county leads towards the wooded landscapes of Wyre Forest.
